Dr. Phyllis Okereke, Lead Physician

Dr. Phyllis Okereke brings over eighteen years of experience to Brownsville Eye and Cosmetic Center. She believes that everyone deserves quality healthcare, and that everyone deserves to look their best.

Dr. Okereke has practiced on four continents: North America, Europe, Asia and Africa. Her experience includes clinical, research and instructional medicine.

Dr. Okereke is the only doctor in the entire Rio Grande valley certified to use the Intense Pulse Light™ photorejuvenation and NLite™ non-ablative collagen replenishment procedures.

Dr. Okereke completed her ophthalmic residency in England at Guy's Hospital, London and at Manchester Royal Eye Hospital. She completed her subspecialty training in opthalmic plastic surgery at St. Joseph's Hospital in Houston and her training in vitreoretinal and glaucoma at the University of Texas Department of Ophthalmology, also in Houston.
